About Us

Founded by an Elementary School Counselor, a University Associate Research Administrator and a UPS Driver, Guided Hands Foundation, was recognized as a  501(c)3 non-profit organization in  2011. It's mission is dedicated to empowering and supporting  children and youth in the greater Chicagoland area facing housing instability.  By creating awareness and providing resources in an effort to deplete the plight of homelessness, we remove such barriers  to ensure that students are offered uninterrupted  opportunities for growth.

We have supplied resources that facilitates an active partnership between schools and local shelters. With doing this, all children are given the opportunity to be  prepared to learn on the first day of class and throughout the entire school year.

Guided Hands Foundation also partners with local park districts and community centers to help provide free after-school and summer opportunities for students and youth enrolled in our program. If students are involved in extra curricular activities, special requests for musical instruments, athletic apparel and equipment may be provided.

Our foundation is fortunate to have the shared support of our generous donors.  You can also do your part to help children and youth in need of assistance.   Whether volunteering, donating school uniforms, school supplies or participating in our events, your support is greatly appreciated.  We are here to make sure that, despite the many uncertainties that students and their families face daily, they can be assured that they will receive new school uniforms, school supplies, warm coats in the winter and toiletries. Together, we can turn the uncertainty into hope for many.

How We're Helping

We work closely with shelters, school administrators, school homeless liaisons, foster parents, social-service agencies and community-based organizations to identify students that are need of our services. Our goal is for every student in the greater Chicagoland area to start the new school year equipped with the supplies needed in order to be successful in school.
